Period Pact Houston, founded in 2020, is a youth-led organization committed to ending menstrual inequity through advocacy, education, and service. Established in response to the widespread issue of period poverty, the group focuses on providing menstrual products to underserved communities in the Houston area while raising awareness and breaking stigmas surrounding menstrual health. Since its inception, Period Pact Houston has organized product drives, educational workshops, and impactful partnerships to empower individuals and promote menstrual equity, creating a lasting impact in the community.

PRESIDENT
Emma is a senior at Clements High is so excited to be co-president of The Period Pact Houston this year! She is passionate about empowering girls to live comfortably and confidently, and can't wait to continue to promote menstrual equity. In her free time, she loves driving with friends, getting ice cream, or rewatching Gilmore Girls. She is so excited for another great year!

Annika Mondal
PRESIDENT
Annika is a senior at Dulles High School passionate about advancing the menstrual movement and creating lasting change in her community. This year in Period Pact, she hopes to expand advocacy efforts, grow community outreach, and support more students through product access and education. She’s excited to work alongside the team to make this the most impactful year yet. Outside of advocacy, Annika enjoys listening to music, catching up with friends, and exploring new places. She’s looking forward to an amazing year ahead!

Lana Nguyen
PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR
A senior at Elkins High School, Lana is passionate about creating positive change in her community by empowering youth. She is a firm believer in the power of raising your voice when faced with social injustice, as well as emphasizing the intersectionality between various world issues and identities. She is passionate about eradicating period poverty and can’t wait to help those in need around Houston. In her free time, she dabbles in photography and filmmaking, and she also enjoys baking, reading, and piano.

Evania John
PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR
Evania is a sophomore at DeBakey HSHP with a strong passion for raising awareness about period poverty and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation. As PR Chair, she hopes to organize workshops and create content that empowers and educates girls about their bodies. She is excited to make a positive impact in the Houston community through this organization. In her free time, she enjoys photography, building Legos, playing tennis, and listening to Selena Gomez.

Valeria Suarez Tabares
EDUCATION CHAIR
Valeria is a junior at St. Agnes Academy and a youth advocate who is passionate about menstrual equity, youth in decision-making spaces, and gender equality. She is focused on how the climate crisis disproportionately affects women by limiting access to essential health resources, and she hopes to shed light on this overlooked issue. As Education Chair, she is excited to lead campaigns and drives while creating educational tools and material to combat period poverty and raise awareness about menstrual health in Houston. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, reading, advocating for ocean conservation, and occasionally visiting the Museum of Natural Science.

Serena Nguyen
EDUCATION CHAIR
Serena is a sophomore at Elkins High School. As Education Chair for The Period Pact, she is excited to plan education workshops to inform girls about menstruation and menstrual equity. She cannot wait to spread The Period Pact’s mission throughout the Greater Houston/ Southeast Texas area! In her free time she loves to dance, sing, read, and bake.

LOGISTICS CHAIR
As the incoming Logistics Chair for The Period Pact this year, some of my goals for the organization this year is ensuring that we are able to hold more fun events and summits for girls in the Houston area to provide more menstrual equity, as well as educate more communities and schools as well! Some of my hobbies and interests include baking, writing, and playing the piano.

Genevieve Bascos
OUTREACH CHAIR
Genevieve is a senior at Dulles High School! As the outreach director, she plans to spearhead key period pact events by providing various service opportunities and donation drives. She looks forward to fostering positive change and promoting menstrual equity. She loves figure skating and playing The NY Times Wordles & Connections! Genevieve believes that ALL girls should have access to menstrual products without having to struggle for this basic necessity.

Sri Sukta Puppala
Sri is a freshman at Elkins High School. She is a deeply passionate advocate for women’s rights and youth leadership. As Outreach Chair for this upcoming year, she hopes to spread awareness of Period Pact and be able to provide all necessities through various donation drives and other service opportunities. She believes in change through action and that every girl deserves the right to feel confident in their own body. She loves to play basketball, dance, draw, and read in her free time.

Zoha Malik
FINANCE CHAIR
This year in Period Pact, Zoha’s goal is to help foster a supportive yet a welcoming environment where every young girl feels comfortable in their own way! She intends to ensure that everyone has access to their own respective needs. Outside of that, you can catch her anywhere from Netflix and chilling to having a blast with her friends! Zoha is more than ecstatic to be able to work alongside with Period Pact Houston and work towards their mission.

FINANCE CHAIR
Sophia is passionate about fighting period poverty and supporting low-income communities through education and supplies. She’s excited to help expand Period Pact reach new heights and help it continue to grow. As Finance chair, she’s excited to oversee The Period Pact’s supplies and funds as well as host fundraisers and donation events. Some of my hobbies are collecting blindboxes, playing the guitar, and watching movies.
